Abstract:
In today’s postdigital era, images generated using π (pi) are not just technical experiments but new ways of thinking about art and value. Unlike traditional artworks shaped by human intention, π-based generative processes rely on endless mathematical sequences to create forms beyond direct human control. It is worth finding how these images challenge familiar notions of authorship, meaning, and visual values, and how they reflect the broader cultural and economic shifts associated with AI and algorithmic creation. The shift gives rise to what could be called computational autopoiesis, where π-generated images emerge from the internal logic of endless numbers rather than pre-designed codes. These images break from traditional visual meaning, functioning instead as vectors of capital flow, abstract topological maps, and agents of automated media circulation.
