Abstract:
To understand the research status in the ESG field, this study uses the CiteSpace tool to systematically
analyze ESG-related literature in the WOS database, revealing the disciplinary knowledge structure and research
hotspot trends in this field. The results show that the disciplinary knowledge structure of the ESG research field
consists of four parts: research on ESG and corporate governance structures, research on ESG ratings and
corporate performance, research on ESG and sustainable development, and research on ESG and risks. The
research hotspot trends in ESG include aspects such as ESG investment, socially responsible investment, information asymmetry, and corporate performance. Finally, this study proposes potential future research topics
in ESG from two perspectives: innovation in comprehensive ESG assessment methods and international
comparison and standardization of ESG information disclosure, providing references for ESG academic research
and management practices.
