Abstract：

This study retrieved 174 literatures on the digital protection and new media communication of Sichuan Opera as an intangible cultural heritage (ICH) from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database, published between 2003 and 2024. A combination of bibliometric analysis and qualitative research methods was adopted for systematic analysis. The results show that over the past two decades, against the backdrop of policy support and technological development, research on the digital protection and new media communication of Sichuan Opera ICH has exhibited an annual upward trend. Analysis of highly cited literature indicates that the current mechanisms for the digital protection and new media communication of Sichuan Opera still need further improvement.
