Abstract:

The single perspective of art history research shaped by Western influence cannot fully reveal the complexity and diversity inherent in art. With the accelerated process of globalization and the continuous advancement of the ”New Liberal Arts” concept, interdisciplinary research has become increasingly important in the field of Chinese art studies. This paper focuses on the interdisciplinary research approaches in Chinese art history. It sorts out the origins between ancient Chinese scholarly traditions and modern interdisciplinary research and explores how to promote innovative practices of interdisciplinary research in the contemporary context. The paper aims to construct a Chinese art history writing system with Chinese characteristics, deepen the inheritance of ancient Chinese traditions of interdisciplinary art research, and facilitate equal dialogue between Chinese and Western art history studies. And expected to provide new ideas for the innovation of theoretical paradigms in the discipline of Chinese art history.
