Abstract：

Folk culture serves as the foundational source and innovative wellspring for Chinese traditional dance, whose vitality depends on living transmission. The deep symbiotic relationship between them not only aligns with the strategic demand for cultural confidence but also carries the cultural gene of “diversity in unity” characteristic of the Chinese nation. This paper focuses on the concrete manifestations and contemporary value of folk elements in traditional dance, analyzing their key roles in shaping dance style, generating movement vocabulary, and conveying emotional connotations. Through multiple case studies, this paper examines the multidimensional influence of folk culture on dance creation. It aims to provide actionable pathways for traditional dance to maintain cultural authenticity while achieving “innovative development”, thereby enhancing its capacity to showcase national cultural heritage and artistic creativity in the new era.
