Abstract:
As one of the representatives of the school advocating the rearrangement and revision of misplaced texts, Zhang Lu wrote Shanghan Zuanlun (A Compilation of Treatises on Febrile Diseases) and Shanghan Xulun (An Introduction to Treatises on Febrile Diseases), which collectively demonstrate his research and exploration on Treatise on Febrile Diseases and have exerted a profound influence on the academic study of febrile diseases in the Jiangsu-Zhejiang region. Exploring Zhang Lu's ideas on interpreting Treatise on Febrile Diseases with the help of hermeneutic theories and methods is not only a process of sorting out and excavating the academic thoughts of renowned TCM masters and an expansion and development of the theoretical research on Treatise on Febrile Diseases, but also an exploration and practice of interdisciplinary innovation in TCM research. His interpretive ideas can be divided into three aspects: in terms of theoretical interpretation, he adopted the methods of theoretical inheritance, comprehension and development, and comparative interpretation; in terms of syndrome interpretation, he used the methods of citing classics for explanation, explaining based on principles, explaining from experience, and linguistic explanation; in terms of formula and medicinal interpretation, he mainly employed the methods of collecting views from various scholars, pharmacological analysis, and comparative interpretation.
