Abstract:

The leisure sports major serves as a window for outdoor sports to enter universities, and school- community cooperation is the direction for integrating higher education with social education. The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China specifically emphasizes the need to improve the education mechanism involving schools, families, and society, forming a powerful joint force for running education across the whole society, thereby providing talent support for Chinese-style modernization. As an applied major, leisure sports nurtures talents for public fitness, outdoor guidance, and sports training, thus placing higher demands on practical teaching ability and comprehensive quality. The rock climbing course, which combines skills, practical experience, and comprehensiveness, is one of the core courses of the leisure sports major. However, current university rock climbing teaching generally faces problems such as insufficient venues, weak faculty, the need for optimization of the evaluation system, and a disconnection from market demand. This paper takes the rock climbing course of the leisure sports major as the research object, analyzes the characteristics of the course and the current teaching situation, explains the necessity and effectiveness of applying school-community cooperation to rock climbing teaching, and constructs practical strategies from four aspects: joint training, curriculum optimization, process management, and evaluation system, providing theoretical references and practical paths for the reform and innovation of rock climbing courses in university leisure sports programs.
