How to Break through the Embeddedness Dilemma: Exploring the Inter-construction Path of Medical Social Workups

Abstract：

From the theoretical perspectives of embeddedness and inter-construction, this study analyzes the formal embeddedness dilemma of contemporary medical social work in China under policy-driven development, and proposes a pathway toward practical inter-construction. Taking the Social Service Department of Peiping Union Medical College Hospital as a historical reference, this paper explores its triple inter-construction of knowledge, value and institution, which realized the in-depth integration of humanistic care and professional rationality. Historical experience indicates that the vitality of medical social work lies in holistic human care, systematic social diagnosis and institutionalized professional status. This paper suggests promoting the transformation from superficial embeddedness to in-depth inter-construction through value reshaping, knowledge integration and institutional empowerment, so as to provide historical evidence and theoretical reference for constructing a localized medical social work system in China.
