Abstract:

Based on data from the 2022 China Family Panel Studies (CFPS), this study examines the impact of flexible employment on household consumption. The findings indicate that flexible employment significantly raises household consumption levels, and this effect is more pronounced among subgroups with secondary education, youth and prime‑age cohorts, agricultural hukou holders, and residents in the eastern region. The research provides empirical support for understanding the role of flexible employment in expanding domestic demand.
