Abstract:
This study aims to investigate the awareness rate of nutrition and health knowledge and its influencing factors among adult residents in Kuiwen District, Weifang City, and to provide rational recommendations. A stratified multi-stage random sampling method was used to survey 440 residents aged 18–64 years. Results: The average score of nutrition and health knowledge was 44.7 ± 17.7 points; the awareness rate was 8.9%. Univariate chi-square tests indicated that education level (χ² = 6.981, P = 0.008), occupation (χ² = 17.598, P = 0.001), number of knowledge acquisition channels (χ² = 16.697, P < 0.001), and disease status (χ² = 5.434, P = 0.02) significantly influenced the awareness rate. Binary logistic regression showed that education level (junior college and above: OR = 2.660, 95% CI: 1.258-5.625), number of acquisition channels (>3 categories: OR = 2.606, 95% CI: 1.190-5.707), and disease status (no disease: OR = 2.332, 95% CI: 1.125-4.832) were independent influencing factors. The findings suggest that the nutrition and health knowledge level of residents in this area is relatively low, and targeted health education should be strengthened for males, those with low education, non-medical professionals, those with fewer acquisition channels, and those with chronic diseases.
