Mechanisms of Living Transmission of Qingshen Qianqiang Dance ——An "Intangible Cultural Heritage + Community" Collaborative Perspective

Abstract:
To examine how local intangible cultural heritage (ICH) can move from festival-based display to everyday community practice, this study analyzes Qingshen Qianqiang Dance in Guihua Village, Xilong Town, and Chengyi Yaju Residential Community, Qingzhu Subdistrict. Documentary, case, and urban–rural comparative analyses were employed. Rural transmission is primarily embedded in local memory, heritage-bearer resources, and grassroots organization, whereas urban transmission depends more on residents' interests, community arts groups, and neighborhood interaction. Despite these differences, the two settings can complement one another through skills exchange, participant mobility, joint activities, and resource sharing. The analysis identifies five interrelated mechanisms: stakeholder coordination, resource integration, motivational alignment, institutional embedding, and affective connection. Current practice remains constrained by weak routinization, dependence on key heritage bearers, limited succession, loose urban–rural collaboration, and insufficient community evaluation. Sustainable transmission therefore requires tiered training, stable community spaces, reciprocal urban–rural networks, and community participation in governance while the core techniques and cultural context of Qianqiang Dance are preserved.
