Abstract：

As one of the famous historical and cultural cities in China, Suzhou Ancient City has a long history and profound cultural heritage, and is an outstanding representative of the water town culture in Jiangnan. In recent years, with the integration and development of cultural and tourism industries, the ancient city of Suzhou has attracted a large number of tourists with its unique cultural charm and tourism resources, and the cultural tourism industry has flourished. However, while developing rapidly, the ancient city of Suzhou also faces many challenges and problems, such as the dispersion of tourism resources, homogenization of tourism products, and lack of brand effect. These problems seriously restrict the sustainable development of cultural tourism in the ancient city of Suzhou. This article analyzes the current situation of cultural and tourism integration development in Suzhou ancient city, and proposes that Suzhou ancient city should continue to uphold the concept of "Gusu is tourism, tourism is Gusu". It suggests that cultural and tourism integration innovation should be the main line, and the historical culture and tourism development of Gusu should be regarded as an organic whole. From the aspects of resource development, industrial development, and cultural protection, efforts should be made to promote the deep integration and innovation of cultural and tourism in the whole district.
