Research on the Reform of Practical Teaching in Dental Technology Programs in Higher Education from the Perspective of Industry-Education Integration

Abstract:

Against the backdrop of the continuous deepening of healthcare system reform and the steady advancement of the “Healthy China” strategy in China, dental technology, as an important application-oriented discipline linking clinical stomatology and the dental healthcare industry, plays a crucial role in determining the quality of oral healthcare services and the high-quality development of the dental industry. Practical teaching constitutes the core component of the teaching system in dental technology programs at higher education institutions. However, for a long time, problems such as the misalignment between practical teaching content and industry demands, insufficient authenticity of teaching scenarios, and an underdeveloped university-enterprise collaborative education mechanism have persisted. As a key direction of current higher education reform, industry-education integration provides realistic pathways and institutional support for the reform of practical teaching in dental technology programs. On the basis of systematically reviewing the connotation of industry-education integration and the characteristics of practical teaching in dental technology programs, this paper conducts an in-depth analysis of the major problems existing in practical teaching at higher education institutions. It focuses on exploring the goal orientation, implementation pathways, and safeguard mechanisms for practical teaching reform from the perspective of industry-education integration. Combined with the actual conditions of talent cultivation in dental technology programs, this study proposes practical and operable reform strategies, aiming to provide theoretical references and practical guidance for higher education institutions to deepen industry-education integration and enhance the quality of practical teaching in dental technology.
