A Study on Approaches to Integrating China's Outstanding Traditional Culture into Ideological and Political Education in Higher Education Institutions

Abstract：

The significant integration of superb traditional Chinese culture as well as ideological and political education in universities has turned out to be a universally acknowledged problem in the world of education. Nevertheless, the practical aspect has been stuck for a considerable period of time in a state of knowledge imposition and has not yet developed into effective education. In this article, we start from the core idea of traditional culture and reveal its inner correspondence with ideological and political education from the viewpoint of values. We also discuss the obstacles to the practical implementation of ideas presented in connection with superficiality of content, uni-directionality of methods, low level of teachers' qualification, and weak ecological coordination. As a result, we offer the integration strategy based on content reconceptualization, method innovation, teachers' qualification improvement, the expansion of the field of activity, and ecology improvement. The output of integration is dependent on the improvement of the coordinating function of the entire educational system instead of the isolation of certain elements.
