An Analysis of the Dilemmas and Countermeasures of Integrating Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture into Secondary Vocational English Teaching

Abstract：

At present, the integration of secondary vocational English teaching with excellent traditional Chinese culture faces systemic dilemmas. The underlying causes include structural deviations in teaching objectives, a lack of systematic curriculum resources, insufficient adaptability of teaching methods, inadequate guidance from the evaluation system, and the relatively low quality and teaching proficiency of teachers. These factors interact with one another and affect the effectiveness of cultural education. Therefore, this study proposes developing a sustainable English teaching and cultural integration system with secondary vocational characteristics by reconstructing the teaching objective system, systematically developing curriculum resources, innovating integrative teaching approaches, establishing an evaluation system, and strengthening teacher development. The aim is to improve students' intercultural communication competence, enhance their cultural confidence, and achieve an organic integration of the instrumental and humanistic dimensions of English education.
