Abstract：

In film art, dialogue language is an important means of shaping character images and expressing the theme and ideas of the film. It is also an important carrier for the film to connect with the audience and engage in emotional communication with them. The language art of a movie plays an important role in the artistic presentation and emotional expression of the entire film. Jane Austen's novel "Sense and Sensibility" has won widespread acclaim for its humorous and witty language style and profound thematic ideas since its publication in 1811. This realistic novel, which reflects the marriage situation of the upper class in Britain, has also attracted the audience's attention with its unique comedic language art after being adapted into a movie. From the perspective of realism, studying the comedic language art of "Sense and Sensibility" not only helps us to gain a deeper understanding of the film's thematic ideas, but also allows us to experience more deeply how the film shapes character images and expresses emotions through language art. In this regard, this article provides an overview of "Sense and Sensibility", analyzes the comedic language art in "Sense and Sensibility", and explores the role of comedic language art from the perspective of realism, in order to better understand the social and cultural background of that era and appreciate the unique value of comedic language in literary works.
