Abstract：

Rural revitalization is a crucial part of achieving Chinese-style modernization, and the in-depth empowerment of the digital economy is injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the rural economy. At present, there is still a significant gap between urban and rural development in China, especially in the field of information infrastructure. In 2024, the rural internet penetration rate was only 63.8%, lower than the 85.3% in urban areas. Moreover, the penetration rate of the digital economy in the agricultural sector is less than 10%, highlighting the urgency of digital development in rural areas. Based on this, this paper clarifies the theoretical and practical significance of the digital economy empowering the high-quality development of the rural economy. It then identifies the internal mechanism of this empowerment, finds out the practical difficulties faced at the current stage, and proposes corresponding practical paths. The aim is to activate rural endogenous power and achieve common prosperity.
