Abstract：

Within the modernisation of China's national governance system, rural governance serves as the core domain of grassroots administration, with its efficacy directly impacting the implementation outcomes of the rural revitalisation strategy. As an integral component of diversified dispute resolution mechanisms, mediation by local elders embodies the governance wisdom of China's outstanding traditional culture—which harmoniously integrates sentiment, reason and law—projected into contemporary society. It further represents a vivid extension of the ‘Fengqiao Experience’ within rural governance practices in the new era.
