Group Work Intervention Basedon Gender Theory: A Practical Study on Improving Adolescents' Gender Awareness
Jiang Yaru *

Abstract:
Gender awareness during adolescence significantly influences personality development andsocial adaptation. However, current school education lacks systematic gender perspective cultivation. Grounded in gender theory, this study conducted a survey on 86 adolescents' gender awareness, then designed and implemented a six-session group work intervention for 12 participants. Mixed-methods evaluation showed that participants' gender stereotype scores decreased significantly, with improvement stages from unconscious acceptance to critical awareness, individual confusion to collective empowerment, and cognitive change to behavioral experimentation. The study confirms the effectiveness of gender theory-informed group work in enhancing adolescents' gender awareness.
