Abstract:

Traditional physical education teaching evaluation has long been constrained by singular indicators, static approaches, limited subjects, and inefficient data usage, making it difficult to objectively reflect the process and outcomes of students' physical education learning. The deepening of digital transformation in education provides an opportunity for big data technologies to intervene in evaluation reform. Based on the realistic dilemmas, this paper explains the value of big data-empowered evaluation and constructs a technology-driven framework from three dimensions: data collection, analytical processing, and evaluation application. It also discusses implementation pathways through case studies of Huaihua University and other institutions. This framework enables multi-dimensional data collection both inside and outside the classroom, real-time dynamic feedback, and personalised interventions, offering a feasible solution for reform. Nevertheless, its promotion and application still require prudent responses to technical risks, data security, and ethical challenges.
