Exploration of Teaching Reform in Spanish-Chinese Translation Courses at Application-Oriented Universities under the "Machine Translation + Post-Editing" Model

Abstract：

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, machine translation has become widely used in the field of written translation, and the "Machine Translation + Post-Editing" (MTPE) model is increasingly becoming the mainstream working mode in the language service industry. However, Spanish-Chinese translation courses at application-oriented universities, which aim to cultivate talents that meet the needs of enterprises and institutions, still generally adopt a traditional teaching model centered on textbook cases and teacher lectures. Daily translation training is disconnected from real enterprise needs, and the cultivation of students' post-editing abilities is seriously insufficient. To address this issue, based on an analysis of the current teaching situation and problems in Spanish-Chinese translation courses, this paper proposes a curriculum reform plan centered on "Machine Translation + Post-Editing," which specifically includes: selecting teaching texts oriented to enterprise needs; guiding students to compare the accuracy of various machine translation systems; and strengthening targeted post-editing training based on error types. This research aims to provide actionable pathways for the transformation and upgrading of Spanish-Chinese translation courses at application-oriented undergraduate institutions, cultivating Spanish-Chinese translation talents who are grounded in language knowledge and translation skills and use AI as an efficiency-enhancing tool.
