Knowledge Graph Empowering Foreign Language Education: Current Applications, Challenges, and Future Prospects

Abstract：

As an important technology in knowledge engineering and artificial intelligence, knowledge graphs are profoundly influencing both the research paradigm and practical approaches in foreign language education. Based on a systematic review of relevant literature, this paper clarifies the dual role of knowledge graphs in the field of foreign language education: as a bibliometric tool, they have become a mainstream method for revealing disciplinary knowledge structures and tracing research frontiers; as an intelligent technology, they are being explored for personalized learning path recommendation and smart teaching system construction. However, the field still faces practical challenges, including scattered research efforts, fragmented theoretical frameworks, high construction difficulties, and narrow application scenarios. Future research should focus on deepening fundamental theories, expanding application boundaries, and strengthening technological integration, so as to promote a substantive transformation of knowledge graphs from "analytical tools" to "empowering engines".
